Harry dies before his time during the battle in the Department of Mysteries instead of Sirius. Harry relunctantly decides to go backwards in time and live life as cousin he didn't know he had that died before he was born so that he could help his younger self.

After allowing himself to get hit by the killing curse in the Forbidden Forest, Harry is given a chance to live his life over. However, he wasn't the only one that was given a second chance that night. The other made some changes that not only effected Harry's life but the search for Voldemort's Horcruxes.

After Harry learns of the prophecy, he finds a time tuner and uses it to go backwards in time to a few years before he started Hogwarts. A Harry adopts his younger self story.

Snape is left dieing in the Shrieking Shack after giving Harry his memory's convinced that Harry is going to his death. When Snape dies, he is given a chance to send his soul backwards in time seven years to give Harry a chance for a better (and hopefully longer) life. Will switch back and fourth between being Snape centered and Harry centered.

A story written by a member of my family, Vern Bergen. Vern gave the manuscript for this story to my dad a long time ago. As far as my dad knows, this story hasn't been published or anything. This story takes place in the 19th century (1850s to 1890s) and is about Chris Bergen and some other members of my family.

When Harry is a child (about 5), Dumbledore decided to check on Harry. He doesn't approve of the way the Dursleys treat Harry and removes Harry from their care. Who would Dumbledore send Harry to live with and will he be the same person as in canon when he starts Hogwarts? Will he have the same friends? Bonus Points if you cover all 7 years at Hogwarts and keep things Deathly Hallows compadible (in other words, horcruxes, hallows, Snape fancying Harry's mom, Dumbledore being once lovers with Grindelwald, ect.).

At the end of Harry's third year, Harry, dissapointed that he couldn't do anything to prove Sirius was innocent, decides to confront Dumbledore and tell him he doesn't want to go home to the Dursleys. He tells Dumbledore about how they treat him badly and how he was looking forward to living with Sirius only to not being able to show Minister Fudge Sirius was innocent.

Dumbledore, dissapointed that Petunia didn't do what he asked, decides to tell Harry about the prophecy and why he was placed with the Dursleys. He then convinces Harry to allow him to use a spell that will send both of their souls back to shortly after Harry became an orphan.

Dumbledore, prevents Sirius from going after Pettigrew and manages to keep him out of Azkaban. He allows Sirius to raise Harry (who, unknown to anyone but Dumbledore is mentally almost 14 years old) under a few conditions:

Sirius passes Harry off as his own son and tell every one that Harry died. Sirius can tell Remus the truth but that is it. Dumbledore will help him by making Harry biologically Sirius' son.

Dumbledore, not wanting anyone to be suspecious of Harry being from the future, uses the soul fragment Voldemort accidentaly put in Harry to make Harry a twin brother.  He does this so Harry can get an idea of how Harry's physical age should act. Dumbledore must use his knowledge of magic to make this "child" he created not be a horcrux but a seperate person who Voldemort is not depended on for immortality and Sirius has to agree to pass this child of as his own as well.

Things go smothly until the child that Dumbledore created starts having dreams about being Voldemort. Sirius, Remus, Dumbledore, and Harry work together to try to prevent the child from fallowing in Voldemort's footsteps while trying to defeat the real Voldemort.

Must Haves:

Sirius gives Harry and the child Dumbledore created Black family like names. (The Blacks have a tradition of naming their kids after characters in mythology)

Sirius and Remus must not know that Dumbledore and Harry came backwards in time until after Harry starts Hogwarts for the second time.

The world will be forever convinced that Harry Potter died with his parents (Voldemort can somehow find out the truth).

Dumbledore tracks down Voldemorts horcruxes.

Harry and the child Dumbledore created are both parslemouths, even after Voldemort dies.

Due to the apparent deaths of all the Potters, Sirius inhertits everything.

Optional Things:

Dumbledore takes steps to prevent the events of Harry's first two years of Hogwarts (IE, not allowing Quirrel to teach again, having students pocessions being checked for dark magic).

Dumbledore convinces Snape to be nice to students (espessaly to Sirius' supposed kids).

When Harry meets with Dumbledore at King's Cross in Deathly Hallows, Dumbledore tells Harry when he goes back, it will be to the moment he first came into existance. Dumbledore tells him it is because too many good people have died and would like to prevent those deaths while allowing Harry some time with people who love him and will let him be a kid. When Harry is reborn in the new, much to his suprise/horror/whatever, Severus Snape is his father. Turns out Severus had also been given a "second chance" and ended up marrying Harry's mother Lily and is not a death eater. Can Severus and Harry work together to make a better time line?

Bonus points if you do one or more of the fallowing:

In this new timeline, Severus, not wanting to be associated with Death Eaters, told the sorting hat when he was "resorted" anywhere but Slytherin, ended in Gryffindor and at least on good terms with the four Marauders.

Before Harry is re-born, a healer says something is odd to Severus and Lily when Lily goes in for a routine checkup. Something along the lines that their unborn child has three biological parents (Severus, Lily, and James).

The prophecy is different in the new timeline.

Sequel to Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone: Take Two what will happen in year two now that there's seven friends instead of the Golden Trio?

What if Hagrid was too busy to fetch Harry when his letters were intercepted by his Uncle Vernon? What if Severus Snape had gone in his place and learnt that Harry wasn't living in the lap of luxury like he had always imagined.

This is one of the few Slytherin!Harry stories I've read where Snape is friendly to Harry from the moment they met. There are a lot of typos and the chapters are realy short at first but if I recall starting with chapter 11, they get to a resonable length (1000+). Chapter 14 is the longest. Its defenitly over 5000 words but I'm not sure. I haven't bothered to count. The plot is interesting. Harry is friends with Draco, Ron, and Hermione at first but Neville, Blaze Zambini, and Pansy Parkinson join the group. Milcent Billstrude takes Draco's roll as the primary rival to the gang.

Eleven year old Harry Potter is waiting to leave for Hogwarts. While he is waiting for the Dursleys to wake, he finds a letter addressed to him...from himself. It has a simple message: Get to know Ginny Weasley. Post OOTP. AU. Extended edition.

Fate's Debt is a soul bond fic. The first few chapters are rushed but its because either nothing relavent to the story is going on or what is going on is like what happened in canon. The story sticks with canon events but how they unfold are different. The "butterfly effect" gets more noticible as the story progresses.

The Dumbledore in this story makes me sick. He knows the Dursleys are not nice to Harry and knows it is wrong to force Harry to stay with them part of the summer but forces Harry to anyways. He comes across as a good person that is a reluctant villian for Harry and Ginny but the confict between then is more words then anything else (though there is some typical teenage rebellionish on Harry and Ginny's part) but they get along and help each other when the situation requires it.

Overall, an interesting story that I recommend.

Deathly Hallows spoilers ensue. This story is being written as a response to JKR's comment in an interview where she said if Snape could choose to live his life over, he would choose Lily over the Death Eaters. So, that said, this is obviously AU.

After Snape dies, he is given a chance to go back to just before the moment him and Lily stoped being friends and live a life in a world where him and Lily continue on being friends. The story has a very interesting "butterfly effect" that includes a different prophecy, a potential break in the statute of secrecy, and a Regulus Black that more or less has taken Snape's place in this new timeline. Don't read if you don't like Snape/Lily as that Snape ends up marring Lily.

Harry finds himself making a decision to give it all up just to change what has happened. What he doesn't realize is that he gets a second chance to set it right.

Very unique when it comes to redo stories. The changes Harry has made have caused some rather interesting changes in history that Harry is unsure what the conciquences of them are. Harry is also not the mentaly stable person when he arrives in the past. He suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and it has gotten a lot of the adults around him concerned about his home life.

I'm a little dissapointed with some of the revalations in this story. Mostly that it appears that Harry and Neville's parents have switched positions. In other words Harry's parents suffered the same fate that Neville's parents had in HP canon.

This is the story of what happened to Harry if he didnt live his life at the Dursleys but with his father? Where was his mother? Why was it different? How much would be the same? And how much would be different? How many surprises will greet him along the way?
