Something To Think About
This page is something just to spark friendly discussions. These are just
things to think about. I may not support the ideas that are listed or implide here even though
I wrote this article. I'm just posting them here just so people can discuss them.
The United States is an odd country. Our constitution gives us rights and
protections that are not enforced all the time.
Our constitution gives us freedom of expression. In other
words, we can wear (or not wear) what we want. But in a lot of places, you can't. For
example a lot of places have rules like "No shirt, no shoes, no service"; in public facilities
like schools and court rooms, there are dress codes; and some places have laws about what you should
and shouldn't wear in public.
Our constitution gives us freedom of speach. In other words,
we can say what we want. However, we aren't allowed to. But we aren't allowed to go
around saying whatever we want no matter what the context or if we are being serious about it or we
may end up in getting in trouble and may have to go to court.
Our constitution says we have freedom of the press. In other
words, the press can publish and/or report on anything they want. Yet our government doesn't
allow the press to report and/or publish on somethings because they are top secrete.
Our constitution gives us equal protection under the law.
In other words, we all have the same rights. This is not always the case. Men can get
way with being topless (or topfree, or bare-chested, or shirt-less as some preffer) in public, yet
in most places when women do that, it is a crime.
Some of the items I've listed here, there are good reasons for,
but others are just plain silly. Some I don't know why I listed here. Anyways, just
something for you think and debate about.
